It's 1969. Scooby and the gang have come across another haunted house that they've decided to investigate. Upon opening the door, they hear strange screaming sounds, as well as some that almost sound like retching. They creep further into the old house and the noises get louder, and louder, and louder, and.... WHAM! Run over and killed instantly by one of the cars.

Since the mystery gang's untimely demise, thankfully there have been no other deaths on this ride since it opened, but many say it's haunted by the ghosts of Shaggy and Scooby. One person even heard Velma's voice. Being a 44-second ride, let's face it, you don't even get much time to jump from the mining car you're riding in. However, despite its unusually short ride time, this little contraption packs more of a punch than most 1,089-ft tracks. The initial 52-foot plunge into the haunted mansion "feels like 102 feet" in those little mining cars, and the 40 mph top speed "feels like 60". With all the twists and turns through this dark building, you never know what's in store for you next, making this one of the most terrifying continuous-circuit roller coasters under 45 seconds ever built.

Oh, and it fits in a 6x9 area. How many roller coasters can do that? Not a lot. Especially not ones that you can charge 7.70 per ticket.

U Think Anyone Would Ride This?

Terry Inferno

Most guests will, and they never complain about the 7.70 dollar ticket prices.
