Bellewood is a small woodland amusement park with some big coasters. According to local lore, a big shot investor bought the park to expand it in hopes of making a world renowned theme park. While those lofty goals weren't reached, the coasters have made the park quite a draw.

This project started as just one coaster. However, I added a second coaster and then the whole park just grew from there.

THE HISTORY OF BELLEWOOD:

Bellewood Carnival era (1908-1970):
In 1885 (after the Civil War), It all begins as a national park that located in Waterbury, Vermont, USA. The national park has filled with nature of life as the Robinson Family has bought the national park and converted into a carnival in 1908. Throughout World War I, Bellewood Carnival has now offering tickets for the military soldiers for a discount. The Robinson Family had no way how did the carnival discounts tickets for the military so they celebrate how America do in WWI. The flu pandemic (known for H1N1 virus) kept Bellewood Carnival from operating the park in 1918 & 1919 season. Bellewood Carnival was 80% destroyed in the Great Flood of 1927. In 1930, Bellewood Carnival was shut down due to stock market crash and went abandoned. The Robinson Family was forced to move out of Waterbury in 1932. Until WWII stops The Great Depression, Bellewood Carnival was repaired and Slipstream is the first roller coaster ever built by Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters, Inc. (Still in operation today) In 1953, Little Dipper is one of the newer wooden coaster that is a junior coaster but it was removed in 1972 to relocate the coaster to Funway Amusement Park. In the 1957 & 1958 season, the park was forced to not open at all during the Influenza virus (known for H2N2 virus) pandemic. Two rides were removed after the 1968 pandemic started in September, this is also known as H3N2 virus. Later that year in 1970, the Robinson Family have sold Bellewood Carnival to Parques Reunidos.

Parques Reunidos era (1970-1998):
Bellewood Carnival has officially renamed to Vermont’s Wonderland Amusement Park. Pinfari Zyklon took Little Dipper’s former location later in 1976. However, Lumberjack Falls is the very first water ride as a log flume built by Mack Rides in 1979. Slipstream ran the trains backwards and that what’s the crazy moment for the park later that year. Later in 1984, Pinfari Zyklon has been removed to make room for Black Bear (Arrow Dynamics custom looping roller coaster) and started offering a season pass. During that time in 1985, Vermont’s Wonderland announces their very first roller coaster with inversions along with White Lightning (Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loop launch coaster). Vermont’s Wonderland has expanded for the first time for the new area, Wild Forest, later that year. White Lightning was shut down and removed due to incident of 9-year-old boy who broke his arm in 1987. Beyond this incident, Vermont’s Wonderland closes down for the rest of the 1987 season. In 1991, Wild Wolf has became the biggest wooden coaster ever built by Custom Coaster International, Inc. It’s a big replacement for White Lightning after the incident. Orchard Grove is a family area that added in 1995 with Ladybug, a Zierer Tivoli, as park’s new kiddie coaster.

Six Flags era (1999-2026)
In 1999, Six Flags bought Vermont’s Wonderland when Parques Reunidos sold the park after the 1998 season. Vermont’s Wonderland has officially renamed to Six Flags Vermont. At the beginning of the 1999 season, Six Flags added nine new attractions and Orchard Grove has renamed to Camp Looney (themed to the Looney Tunes). In 2001, Six Flags Vermont announces Viper (B&M Floorless), this roller coaster has seven inversions including 97ft Loop, Dive Loop, Zero-G Roll, Sea Serpent, and Interlocking Corkscrews. Later that year, Six Flags Fright Fest were added as a halloween event towards post-season of each year. A few years later, Flying Turns (Mack Rides Bobsled) was added among with a interactive dark ride, Woodship Earth. Oakwood Falls, a water ride, and Living in Forest, interactive dark bot ride, were built to support Vermont Community Foundation during the 2005 season. In 2007, Six Flags has added a water ride, Dutch’s Mine River Rapids. Also, Wild Wolf has renamed to Vermont Giant with trains that added onboard sound plus Black Bear has also renamed to Ninja. Six Flags Vermont added Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith (Mack Rides Interactive Coaster), did not copied Disney’s version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and Thomas Town in the 2008 season. In the spring of 2009 after the 2009 season started in mid-March, the park didn’t affected by H1N1 Flu Pandemic at all. The park has been sued by HIT Entertainment for copyright for Thomas Town during this time. Six Flags Vermont was forced to remove Thomas Town at the end of 2010 season. In 2011, Goliath (Intamin Hyper) has been announced as part of the park expansion. It’s set to open late that summer. Due to Tropical Storm Irene ripping though Vermont later that year, Goliath’s opening day has been postponed until the 2012 season. In 2014, iMax Speed (Intamin Blitz) just got announced after delay opening of Goliath, with few more attractions added. Another incident happened on Vermont Giant that 31-year-old man has fallen off the train and died at the hospital. Vermont Giant was forced to remain closed for the rest of 2014 season. Three years later, Hollywood area of Six Flags Vermont has opened with Hollywood Dreams: The Ride built by Great Coasters International, Inc. Lumberjack Falls is to modify the tracks, during the 2018 season, for the smoother experience and better splash. Titan (B&M Dive) has finally announced later in 2018 season will become Six Flags’ very first dive coaster opening in 2019. Due to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, Six Flags Vermont will have to open in early July. Guests and Employees were required to wear a mask, and to get temperature screenings. Guests are required to have reservations and keep six feet away from others. Meeting up with Looney Tunes characters has been removed during the 2020 season. Six Flags Fright Fest 2020 has been modified to keep guest social distancing due to coronavirus. During WWIII (known for The Corona War), the park has nothing better to announce another new attraction after the coronavirus pandemic. Six Flags will have to closed down their Vermont park for good after the 2026 season.

Six Flags/Meme World era (2026-2035):
Well, the park were about to get demolished and Meme World Parks & Resorts bought the park and refrained them from demolishing the park and teamed up with Six Flags. In 2027, Six Flags Vermont has officially changed the name into Memes’ Bellewood and the park was saved from bankruptcy. Everything in this mixed Six Flags/Meme World park has rethemed to Memes after all adding four coasters. After the 2035 season, the fire broke out and burned Memes’ Bellewood and it’s impossible to save the park due to too much damage from the fire. Memes’ Bellewood went abandoned for good. Over 125 years of fun and thrills. Vermont Governor said, “Rest In Peace, Memes’ Bellewood! We will visit you again soon!” R.I.P. Memes’ Bellewood (1908-2036)
