Coils Park opened in 1989 by Dave Coil. Even though it was the smallest park in the UK at that time with just five rides, the park proved very popular.

Fast forward to 2012.

There were multiple attractions at the park.

Leaping Logs
Chaos
Monster
Silver Spin
Orange Disco
The Lake Thing
Carousel
Twister
Thunderstruck
Ultradips

Ultradips was the best attraction at the park by far. It was there for three years after being bought when Laughton Lake had enough of it. LL kept the ride for 16 years. They later replaced it with a bigger and better duelling woodie.

What a good decision that was...

Not.

Coils Park had the ride for three years until a wire short-circuited and the ride burst into flames and killed almost 200 guests. The incident happened in May 2012.

The entire park closed for the rest of the season and a decision had to be made. There was no choice... but to close down the park.

You could see a large plot of land which looked like the start of a construction site and it was. Construction was going to begin in July of the park's biggest investment, which would have opened in the middle of 2014. But that never happened.

Now everything's overgrown. There's a massive piece of graffiti that says "RIP COILS PARK" on the floor next to Ultradips.

In May 2013, exactly one year after the incident happened, a group of vile thugs planted a bomb next to the entrance. All six security guards didn't notice before it went off. The explosion completely obliterated the entrance, tons of rides and trees, a restaurant and much more.

A company called Harrison Rides, who built Thunderstruck, which was a stand-up coaster, tore down the ride and put it in another park.

Everything is just deteriorating, overgrown and decaying. The owner, Dave Coil, aimlessly wanders around the park and he says he wants to end his life. The security guards try his best to help him, but all he says now is "August 2016" which could possibly be the date he actually ends his life.

Tons of stuff are missing from the park. What a difference a couple of years can make.

Have a look around the park. See what you can do to revive this park.
