What Is The Use?
He is reading Tom Daley's autobiography and while he feels compassionate to Tom's struggles, there are part of his story that make him angry, resentful, jealous and moan about, "What is the use?" Even after he puts the book down after waiting 45 minutes to bleach or colour his hair, his mind ruminates on the highlight reel instead of the human frailties Tom has revealed in his book, and he thinks, "what is the use?" As he is bored at the dinner table while his cousins and his parents and aunty chat about house investments, he thinks "what is the use?" if he isn't going to accomplish anything worthwhile for the next 20 to 30 years, comparing himself suddenly to the youthful success of Tom as an Olympic diver, "Come on, he accomplished something at a very young age, why can't I? What is the use?" Finally, he decides to go to his favourite place; his room and create a rollercoaster, any rollercoaster. The Mine Coaster wasn't cutting so he chooses the vertical drop one. "What's the use?" continues to invade his mind as he accomplishes a small but significant feat; the act of creation is a leap of faith. His mind continues with "what's the use?" but his heart says, "well done, you made use of 'what's the use?'. That is certainly worth a gold medal." He smiles and proudly publishes it on RCTgo.
