After a very successful series of slasher films, comic books and merchandise, fans felt the one thing missing from the franchise was an equally thrilling roller coaster.

"But where are we going to find enough steel to build a roller coaster in the middle of a forest?" asked a fan, who apparently had an inherent belief that all roller coasters must be made of steel.

Failed roller coaster architect Terry W. Inferno didn't bat an eye at this suggestion, for he had already hired 13 lumberjacks to hack down as of Camp Crystal Lake's trees as were necessary to construct a 6,000-foot wooden roller coaster and its supports. Rather than hiring actual qualified people to build the roller coaster, he decided to save money and have the lumberjacks piece the track and supports together, using sharpened rocks and more wood for nails and tree sap as glue. Because roller coasters need lots of glue.

The result: a massive wooden beast that stood high above the Crystal Lake, thrilling riders on every drop, twist, turn, and even a surprise loop located somewhere in the middle of the tangled mess of track that makes up the second half of the ride. It's a dipper, it's a twister, it's a lover, and it's a sinner. Thrilling its riders in the sun.
