San Diego's Balboa Park was the site of the 1915 Panama Exposition, a world's fair well beyond the scale of what was then a sleepy little town. The park is now famous for the Spanish Colonial style structures that were built for the fair and now house most of San Diego's museums. Additional buildings date from 1935. This site is unlike anyplace else in the United States - grand, charming, historical, and with a hint of a European feeling that, while not authentic, isn't quite as themeparky as some other places. Speaking of themeparky, when I walk these paths I always imagine the roar of coasters behind the buildings and through the trees, or a log flume dropping down into the wooded Palm Canyon. So why not make one! This is my first attempt at a scenario meticulously based on a real location, and I loved spending months making just the right choice for every arch, cornice, window, and tree. I hope you enjoy it!

Oops, I uploaded the wrong attachment initially, so I changed this page to match the attached park. It is now my Balboa Park page with the correct attachment!
